Up the River is the more seemingly obscure song on The Triumphs and Travails of Orphan Mae that bear up best to repeated listening. Although John Henry Lives is very melodic it is far from sad. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Black-Eyed Susan. Orphan Mae great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Blue Ink is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Blew our minds when we first heard Montague Road. Through December - This one is lively and fun. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Moving Along defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone.
